Federation Art Gallery
On Wednesday 21st February 10am-5pm and Thursday 22nd February 2024 10am-3pm we held an Art exhibition at at Walsall Art Gallery.
To coincide with 2024’s Children’s Mental Health Week, samples of children’s artwork produced from seven of the Federation schools across all year groups from 2 year olds to Year 6 children was displayed in our own Lighthouse exhibition at Walsall Art Gallery. The theme to design a piece of artwork was called ‘What makes you happy?’ The artwork was a celebration of creativity and expression by our children, showcasing their skills across a range of media:
2 year olds- paint
Nursery-collage
Reception-sketching
Year 1-patterning and printing
Year 2-paint
Year 3-pastels
Year 4-digital art
Year 5-sketching
Year 6-sculpture
The event was very successful and schools visited across the two days, as well as family members and members of the public.
We look forward to a similar event next year, but plan to extend it for another day so more families can visit the exhibition.
